Beast Burger Chiang Mai - The Absolute Best Burgers in Town?

Bright yellow with bold black outlines, the logo is hard to miss!

Beast Burger, not to be confused with MrBeast Burger, is a fabulous burger joint in Chiang Mai’s trendy Nimman (Nimmanahaemin) Road. Known to be some of the best burgers in town, Beast Burger serves up deliciously meaty and juicy burgers made with premium high quality ingredients.

Who would’ve thought that the some of the best burgers in Thailand would be located in Chiang Mai? Well to be fair, I feel like many people would’ve thought about that, since Chiang Mai is a city home to a bustling culinary scene.

Khao Soi Lung Prakit Kaat Gorm of Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil fame can also be found in this deliciously diverse city.

I have a soft spot for burgers, I love them. Throughout my 20+ years of living in Thailand (basically my whole life), I have been on the search for a delicious quality burger, surprisingly for such a quick and easy fast food-esque item, it’s hard to find a decent burger joint in Thailand, aside from regular fast food of course, so you can imagine my joy when I found out about Beast Burger.

The Best Burgers in Chiang Mai?

beast burger interior

The interior is quite small with classic bar style counter seating.

There is stiff competition in Chiang Mai’s Burger scene, the title of “The Best” is highly subjective, but most people will say that the spot for number 1 is between Beast Burger and Rock Me Burger. The funny thing is, Rock Me Burger is literally a 2 minute walk away from Beast Burger, that’s some pretty close competition.

In my humble and obviously correct opinion. I wholeheartedly declare that Beast Burger is the clear winner :)

Beast Burger started off as a small food truck in 2014 operated by 2 siblings whose goal was just to serve a good tasting burger. As time passed, the huge popularity of these burgers prompted the siblings to set up a permanent shop right in downtown Chiang Mai.

The shop is not big, it’s small and cozy with only a couple of tables and some counter seating by the window overlooking the new and architecturally stunning G Nimman Hotel.

One slightly weird thing is that the swimming pool at G Nimman is fully exposed, so if you like to have something to watch while eating then you can go with the counter seating.

What’s on the Menu?

beast burger menu

A lot of burgers to choose from as well as some sides!

The menu is pretty extensive in terms of burgers, there are many types with many flavors to choose from. From a simple Bacon Cheeseburger all the way to something more unique like the Jalapeno Chimichurri.

In addition to a beef patty they also have a pork offering as well. Not to mention a few chicken sandwiches on offer. But when you come here you have to try their beef, it’s what they’re known for.

There are also a few snacks to choose from such as Cajun Shrimp or Fish Fingers. They even have a kids menu!

All their burgers come with a side of your choosing, whether that’s Crinkle Cut Fries, Tater Tots, or Sweet Potato Fries (I recommend this one).

Also, all burgers are cooked to medium-well by default unless you ask for other doneness.

Pricing

The mark of the Beast, I love their logo design.

The pricing is fair coming in at around 275 THB (or 8.25 USD) depending on the burger. They’re not big burgers but they are a good size, certainly bigger than a McDonalds. This is also including the normal crinkle cut fries, if you want the other sides you’ll have to pay 50 THB extra.

Creamy Blue Cheese

creamy blue cheese burger and fries

Look at that thick layer of creamy and pungent blue cheese!

On this particular visit I ordered the Creamy Blue Cheese burger, and let me say that it does indeed live up to the name.

The burger patty is made from 100% premium fatty ground beef. It’s been cooked to medium-well and is seasoned well. The resulting burger patty is incredibly tender and juicy with a nice smoke-y flavor coming from the grill.

The burger patty is topped with caramelized onions, pickled red cabbage, and of course, the creamy gorgonzola blue cheese.

The onions provided a great sweetness, while the pickled cabbage gives it a little sourness to cut through the richness and the fattiness of the burger patty.

The blue cheese, oh my lord the blue cheese. It was salty, smelly (in a good way), and funky. It’s hard to describe what it tastes like but it pairs so well with the fatty juices of the meat.

The fries were good too, a little crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.

Double Double

The juices on this burger was just overflowing.

On another visit (actually my very first visit), I had the Double Double. A mouthwatering tower of double 100% premium beef patties, double cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, grilled bacon, and their signature Beast Sauce.

This time there was no pickled cabbage or blue cheese to cut the fattiness. This Cheeseburger was just pure greasy, meaty, cheesy goodness.

I had a huge smile on my face the first time I took a bite out of this beauty, I have a picture but I’m too shy to show it to you lol.

An interesting thing to note, I’ve just realized this but it seems that they have changed their regular fries for crinkle cut. Personally I prefer the regular but crinkle cut ones are also good.

Conclusion

Pros

  • A lot of different burgers to try.

  • 100% premium all beef burger patties cooked to medium-well, very tender and juicy.

  • Almost artisan level burgers for a good price.

Cons

  • Fries were average. Good fries but nothing to write home about.

Overall I would definitely recommend you visit Beast Burger, not only will you be eating arguably the best burger in all of Chiang Mai (perhaps even the best in all of Thailand), but you will also be paying a fair price for it. Their high quality ingredients and care to preparation makes this well deserving of being named the best. Truly an outstanding burger.

The only small (and I mean really small) complaint is that the fries are average, no wow factor, but they are still good fries.
